The incident took place around 2:15 AM when an intruder entered the couple’s residence. According to Kareena’s statement, she sent their children, Taimur and Jehangir, to safety on the 12th floor while Saif confronted the attacker. The assailant was aggressive and inflicted six stab wounds on Saif, with two of them being serious and close to his spine.
Details from the police investigation reveal that the attacker did not steal any items from the home but reportedly demanded Rs 1 crore from the house help, who was also injured during the altercation. Saif was taken to Lilavati Hospital, where doctors successfully removed a 2.5-inch knife from his wound. He has since been moved to a suite and is expected to be discharged on January 21, 2025, if recovery continues positively.
Kareena mentioned that after the attack, she felt terrified and went to stay with her sister, Karisma Kapoor. She emphasized the severity of the situation and how it impacted their family.
