The recall involves the Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, which have a tow handle that can pinch users’ fingertips against the cooler, posing serious injury risks. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported 12 injury incidents in the U.S., including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations. No injuries have been reported in Canada or Mexico.
These coolers were sold at major retailers such as Costco, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Amazon from 2019 until January 2025, with prices ranging from $80 to $140. Approximately 1.06 million units were sold in the U.S., along with 47,000 in Canada and 23,000 in Mexico. Affected products can be identified by their model number and the “IGLOO” branding printed on the side.
