A court in Den Bosch sentenced 41-year-old Lidwina S. from Nijmegen to two years in prison, half of which is suspended, for fatally hitting a 14-year-old girl with a garbage truck in Sint Anthonis in December 2024. The court found S. was under the influence of amphetamines at the time of the incident. Publish Date: September 22, 2025.
- Lidwina S. was sentenced to two years.
- The incident occurred in Sint Anthonis, Brabant.
- A 14-year-old girl was killed in December.
- S. was under the influence of amphetamines.
- Court found her driving very careless.
- Five-year driving ban was imposed.
The court also imposed a five-year driving ban on S. The Public Prosecution Service had sought two years in prison along with conditional psychiatric treatment to prevent reoffending. However, the court deemed the imposed sentence and additional conditions sufficient to mitigate the risk.
On the morning of the incident, S. turned right at a T-junction and ran over the victim. S. claimed she did not see the girl and was unaware of the collision. “This was very careless and inattentive driving,” stated the court.
Authorities will monitor S.’s compliance with the court’s conditions during her sentence.
