Sony just announced and launched a new PlayStation rewards program after shutting down PlayStation Stars, which ties in-game achievements to special collectibles. The program is not available worldwide and the collectibles are not free.
- Sony announced a new PlayStation rewards program.
- Collectibles are real-life, physical items.
- Players can purchase items after unlocking specific trophies.
- Shipping is limited to select countries only.
- The program starts with “Ghost Rewards” for Ghost of Tsushima.
- Unlocking Platinum trophy allows preordering a $25 USD pin.
The collectibles are real-life, physical items. Sony has announced that players will be able to purchase/pre-order exclusive game-themed merchandise if they unlock certain trophies. The program is being kicked off with something called “Ghost Rewards” for players who unlock the “Mono No Aware” Gold or “Living Legend” Platinum trophies in Ghost of Tsushima by December 31.
Unlocking Ghost of Tsushima’s Platinum trophy will entitle you to preorder a $25 USD / €28 commemorative pin. Those who pop the aforementioned Gold trophy can purchase an exclusive $30 t-shirt. There is a limit of one item per player.
These collectibles can only be shipped to players in the united states, Canada, Australia, Europe (EU, Monaco, Norway and Switzerland), and the United Kingdom. Sony says that Ghost Rewards is “just the start,” with Ghost of Yotei Rewards arriving later this year.
