The GoPro Max2 is designed for professional-quality photos and videos, claiming to be the only “True 8K 360 video capture camera on the market.” It offers up to 21% higher resolution than the Insta360 X5 and DJI Osmo 360 cameras.
The camera captures 10-bit video and 29-megapixel photos, with advanced users able to utilize GP-Log for enhanced dynamic range. A DaVinci Resolve plug-in will assist in editing Max2 footage.

The Max2 supports various recording modes, including high-end 8K video at 30p frame rates, 5.6Kp60, and 4Kp100 for slow-motion capture. It features GoPro’s Emmy Award-winning HyperSmooth technology.
Audio capabilities include six built-in microphones and compatibility with wireless microphones. Specialized modes such as 360 TimeWarp and 360 Night Mode enhance the camera’s functionality.
The Max2’s design is waterproof and built for high-impact sports, featuring an “Enduro” battery for cold weather. It includes twist-and-go replaceable lenses for easy maintenance.

The Max2 is launching alongside the Fluid Pro AI gimbal, which features AI subject tracking and 18 hours of runtime, priced at $229.99.
