The Public Prosecution Service does not want the suspect released. The suspect allegedly ignored a red traffic light and was driving at over ninety kilometers per hour in a zone where fifty kilometers per hour is allowed.
The suspect was arrested at the scene. The examining magistrate decided to suspend the suspect’s pre-trial detention, allowing him to be released under conditions while awaiting the investigation. The Public Prosecution Service disagrees with this decision and is appealing.
