Amazon introduced a new lineup of Echo devices at its annual hardware event on September 30, 2025. These devices are powered by its AI assistant, Alexa+, which is in use by millions of customers.
New Echo Devices Overview
Amazon is releasing four new Echo devices: the Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11. These devices feature enhanced processing power and memory.
The Alexa+ integrations enable these devices to respond to a wider range of queries. They support natural language conversations and complex questions. An Alexa+ Store will be available, offering services from brands like Fandango, GrubHub, and Lyft.
Technical Specifications
The new Echo devices utilize Amazon’s custom-designed silicon chips, the AZ3 and AZ3 Pro. The AZ3 chip enhances conversation detection and improves wake word recognition by over 50%. The other devices employ the AZ3 Pro chip, which supports advanced language models and vision transformers.
Additionally, the AZ3 Pro devices include Ominisense, a sensor platform that utilizes a 13-megapixel camera and other technologies to enhance the smart home experience. This allows Alexa to respond to events in the home, such as reminding users when someone enters a room.
The Echo Dot Max, priced at $99.99, features a two-way speaker with improved bass. The Echo Studio, at $219.99, has a new spherical design and includes spatial audio and Dolby Atmos.
Consumers can connect multiple Echo Studio or Echo Dot Max devices with Fire TV sticks for a comprehensive sound system. The Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11, priced at $179.99 and $219.99 respectively, come with upgraded features like a larger screen area and enhanced picture quality.
These devices will support a new smart home experience called Alexa+ Home, integrating event summaries from smart cameras and supporting various smart home protocols.
