According to Mark Gurman, Apple is testing Siri’s upcoming revamp using an internal chatbot called News/articles/2025-09-26/apple-builds-a-chatgpt-like-app-to-help-test-the-revamped-siri”>Veritas. The company’s struggles in the AI race are evident. The next-gen Siri has faced multiple delays, and the debut of Apple Intelligence received a lukewarm response.
Veritas allows Apple to quickly develop, test, and collect feedback on new Siri features, such as “searching through personal data and performing in-app actions like editing photos.”
According to Gurman, Veritas resembles other chatbot apps like ChatGPT and Gemini. Employees can type requests, engage in conversations, and revisit past exchanges. However, there are no current plans to release it to consumers, which Gurman believes is a mistake. Instead, Apple intends to keep Veritas internal and is likely to rely on Google’s Gemini for its AI-powered search.
