Capcom is bringing Resident Evil 7, Village, and Requiem to Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27, 2026. This announcement was made during the recent Nintendo Direct.
Masato Kumazawa from Capcom discussed the decision to port these games in a recent interview. The company first prototyped Resident Evil Village on Nintendo Switch 2, which led to positive results.
Following the success of Village, Capcom decided to also port Resident Evil Requiem. After achieving promising results with Requiem, they included Resident Evil 7 in the release plan.
“Actually, Village was the game we first prototyped and tried out on Switch 2 hardware when we first got the kit.”
— Masato Kumazawa, Capcom
Capcom aims to release all three titles simultaneously to allow players to start with any of the recent entries in the series. This approach facilitates an easy transition for new players.
