Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the development of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part Three will not be impacted by its launch on multiple platforms.
Multiplatform development confirmed as smooth
Part Three of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is designed to work well across different platforms. Hamaguchi mentioned that dedicated teams are assigned to each platform, ensuring that development remains on track.
While the development for Part Three and its Switch 2 version is going well, the Xbox version is facing challenges, particularly due to its limited memory. Hamaguchi noted this could affect the development experience, especially concerning the less powerful Series S console.
Switch 2 and gameplay updates
The upcoming release for Switch 2 and Xbox is set for January 22. The game will include enhancements to assist players in progressing more quickly, which will also be available for PS5 and PC versions.
Hamaguchi highlighted the impressive hardware of the Switch 2 but mentioned that performance in handheld mode will require careful optimization to ensure stability.
Focus on lighting and gameplay evolution
The development team prioritizes lighting to maintain graphics quality, opting to reduce processing demands in other areas. This shift is aimed at preserving the game’s overall aesthetic.
Hamaguchi wants Part Three’s gameplay to differ from Rebirth, promising a new and engaging experience for fans of the series.
