Russian YouTuber Wylsacom has leaked an unboxing video of the unannounced M5 iPad Pro, providing a first look at its benchmark results. This follows a similar incident last year with the M4 MacBook Pro. The video surfaced on September 30, 2025.
M5 iPad Pro design details
The M5 iPad Pro maintains a design almost identical to the M4 model. It features an ultra-thin chassis and a single camera on the back. However, it remains unclear if there are two front-facing cameras, which were reportedly in development for this update.
Benchmark results from the video indicate that the M5 chip has a 9-core CPU, similar to the M4 iPad Pro. In Geekbench testing, the M5 iPad Pro shows a 10% improvement in single-core performance and a 15% increase in multi-core performance compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the L2 cache has increased from 4MB to 6MB.
In terms of graphics performance, the M5 iPad Pro boasts a 38% increase in Metal graphics performance over the M4. AnTuTu testing reveals that the M5’s GPU is approximately 8% better than that of the M4.
Specifications and upcoming release
The leaked iPad Pro model features 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. Currently, the M4 iPad Pro’s 256GB and 512GB models have 8GB of RAM, while the 1TB and 2TB configurations include 16GB of RAM. This suggests that the upcoming 256GB and 512GB M5 iPad Pro models will have increased RAM.
The device in the video runs iPadOS 26.0, not the expected iPadOS 26.0.1. There is also no “iPad Pro” branding on the back, and the box appears slimmer than previous versions. Apple is anticipated to announce the M5 iPad Pro in October 2025.
