Microsoft has launched Microsoft 365 Premium, merging its Copilot Pro plan with Microsoft 365 subscriptions. This new offering is priced at $19.99 per month and includes AI-powered features, available from October 1, 2025.
Features of Microsoft 365 Premium
Microsoft 365 Premium combines productivity apps with built-in Copilot features. It offers the highest usage limits for features like GPT-4o image generation and voice, Copilot Podcasts, Deep Research, Vision, and Actions. The subscription includes benefits for six users, such as access to Office desktop apps and 1TB of storage per person.
According to Gareth Oystryk, senior director of marketing for Copilot Pro and Microsoft 365, this subscription is designed for solopreneurs and professionals tackling demanding productivity tasks. It aims to provide undeniable value compared to competitors like ChatGPT Plus.
Microsoft 365 Premium is positioned against ChatGPT Plus, which offers extended access to GPT-5 and higher limits on messaging and file uploads. However, Microsoft 365 Premium includes Office desktop apps with integrated Copilot features and cloud storage.
Integration of AI Features
Microsoft is also introducing Researcher and Analyst reasoning agents to Microsoft 365 Premium, which will soon be available in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Users can bring Copilot features to their workplace by signing into their work Office with their personal Microsoft account, enabling AI features in work apps while maintaining security and compliance.
Existing subscribers of Microsoft 365 Personal and Family will also receive access to GPT-4o image generation and voice features, along with higher usage limits than the free Copilot tier. The previous Copilot Pro plan will not be sold anymore, although it will not disappear entirely.
