According to fire department spokesperson Renée Vansteenwinckel, the oil trail runs through the Industrieweg and some smaller streets. The firefighting team is using a high-pressure cleaner to remove the substance. However, the cleanup process is taking longer than anticipated due to the extensive length of the spill.
According to the source, the police are on-site to manage some of the traffic disruptions caused by the incident. Vansteenwinckel also noted that certain parts of the road have been closed off to ensure safety and facilitate cleanup operations.
