Fast Answer: Call Recording is expanding to all countries where Pixel is supported.

Google is officially bringing basic Call Recording to “all countries where Pixel is supported.” The “expansion to new countries will roll out through the rest of the year.”

Specifically, “Call Recording will be available on Pixel 6 and newer, for devices that can’t support richer Call Notes functionality.” There will be a disclaimer to “respect the other caller’s privacy.”

“Call Screen will be accessible from Android Auto. Later this year, you’ll be able to activate Call Notes from your car.”

The other part of today’s announcement is focused on the international expansion of Google’s calling features.

  • Scam Detection is expanding to Australia, Canada, Great Britain, India, and Ireland.
  • Call Notes will roll out to additional countries this year to Australia, Canada, India, and Ireland “as a beta preview.”
  • Call Screen is coming to Australia, Canada, and Ireland. In India (starting with English and Hindi), Pixel 10 users will soon get a beta version of Manual Call Screen.

Google is also working on helping users in India who do not speak the same language as the caller, by providing the ability to translate what is said to Call Screen to the user’s language.

Finally, Google’s post today recapped Magic Cue and Voice Translate on the Pixel 10, as well as Take a Message. All Pixel Phone app users benefit from Material 3 Expressive, which creates a more intuitive and easier experience.

The Favorites carousel at the top of the Home tab, which also has a “simplified recent calls list,” is supposed to save users from navigating between screens. There’s also “horizontal swipe and single-tap options for answering and declining calls.”
