Square Enix showcased new gameplay footage for Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined at the Tokyo Game Show, set for release on 5th February 2026 for the Switch and Switch 2.
Approximately 17 minutes of live gameplay footage was presented during the event, available from 27:43 to 44:39 in the video. The footage is in Japanese but provides insights into the game.
Square Enix confirmed there is no upgrade path for the Switch version. Players must purchase the title on Switch 2 to play it on that system. Additionally, a trailer for the Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake was released, featuring a new underwater region.
