Today, Meta officially confirmed that WhatsApp now supports Live Photos, a feature some users had noticed recently.

Users can see Live Photos animate briefly when sent or received, similar to viewing them in the iOS photo album.

The Live Photo indicator appears in the top-left corner of these images, and tapping it plays the audio recorded during capture. Some iOS users have reported difficulties sending Live Photos, even though they can receive them.
