Russian YouTube channel Wylsacom has posted an unboxing video of what appears to be a pre-release version of a 256GB 13-inch iPad Pro featuring an M5 processor. This event occurred on September 30, 2025.
Details on the New iPad Pro
The unboxing video showcases a retail boxed version of the new iPad Pro. This would mark the first new iPad Pro release since May 2024, when Apple introduced the M4 version. The M5 processor has not been seen in any other Apple product yet.
In the video, the channel discusses various aspects, including the packaging and the wattage of the included power adapter. Performance numbers for the M5 processor were also shared. According to quick Geekbench 6 runs, the M5 improves CPU performance by approximately 10 to 15 percent and GPU performance by about 34 percent compared to the M4 in the previous iPad Pro.
Processor Specifications
The M5 processor includes three high-performance CPU cores and six high-efficiency CPU cores. This core count matches that of the 256GB and 512GB versions of the M4 iPad Pro. The 1TB and 2TB versions of the iPads and the M4 Macs have one additional performance core. The exact number of GPU cores in the M5 is not stated, but the performance improvements suggest that Apple may have added more than the 10 GPU cores present in the M4.
Higher clock speeds, faster RAM, and architectural improvements may also contribute to the performance jump observed in the M5 processor.
