DOUGLAS COUNTY — Four people were killed and seven others injured in a crash involving a car and a commercial tour bus on State Route 28 on February 10, 2025. The Washington State Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m., approximately 15 minutes southeast of Wenatchee.

The tragic event unfolded when a westbound car attempted to overtake another vehicle in the eastbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with an oncoming tour bus. Following the initial impact, the car also struck the vehicle it was trying to pass before both vehicles ended up off the roadway. Emergency responders confirmed that two teenagers in the car—a 17-year-old girl driving and her male passenger—were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tour bus, who was 66 years old, also died from injuries sustained during the crash. In addition to these fatalities, several passengers aboard the bus were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Unfortunately, one of those passengers later succumbed to their injuries, raising the total death toll from this incident to four individuals.
