During his time at sea, Napa managed to survive by consuming whatever he could find, including:
- Cockroaches
- Birds
- A turtle
Upon his rescue, Napa was found in good physical condition, able to walk and wash himself, despite the trauma of his experience. Peruvian Navy port captain Jorge González confirmed his stable health after being discharged from a hospital in Paita. Napa’s daughter, Ines, expressed relief and joy at her father’s miraculous return, stating that the family never lost hope.
Napa’s story serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by fishermen at sea and the importance of safety measures. His survival against the odds highlights the resilience of the human spirit and the critical role of family support during difficult times.
