- Users report a 50% off offer when attempting to cancel subscriptions.
Following a recent price increase, Nest Aware has jumped to $100/year, or $10/month. The Nest Aware Plus option has also increased, doubling the base tier’s cost. Both plans offer intelligent alerts for Familiar Faces, smoke and carbon monoxide alarm detection, and access to e911 calls.
According to some users, an attempt to cancel the subscription has triggered a special renewal offer. The discounted offer takes 50% off the total amount, working for both Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus subscribers.
Users are reporting that even with a recently renewed subscription, attempting to cancel still activates a 50% off offer. In the Google Home app, users appear to be hitting Manage subscription on the Nest Aware page, then tapping Cancel.
This offer seems to be limited to the US, as users in Canada and Australia have noted that no offer is appearing.
This comes as Google plans to rebrand the Nest Aware plan to “Google Home Premium.” The more expensive plan with fewer recording restrictions will be renamed “Google Home Premium Advanced.”
