On Tuesday at around 6:15 AM, emergency services were alerted to a serious accident involving a truck and a delivery van on Meijelseweg (N279) in Heibloem.

The vehicles collided for an unknown reason. The impact was so severe that the truck, a tank truck for transporting dairy, ended up in the ditch, while the delivery van landed on the opposite side of the road. A trauma helicopter was called, but its deployment was ultimately not necessary.
The fire department arrived to secure the situation and set up a screen. The road between Meijel and Heibloem is closed in both directions. The police’s Traffic Accident Analysis (VOA) is investigating the circumstances.
