A small group of counter-demonstrators confronted the police and protesters during the Quran burning. Some of them then moved towards the center of Hoofddorp, where the Mobile Unit (ME) attempted to separate the groups. The police reported unrest around the asylum seekers’ center at approximately 22:00.
According to reporter Thijs-Jan van Aalst, around 80 counter-demonstrators attended the Quran burning, with many from Hoofddorp. The police were heavily present at the asylum seekers’ center on Planeetbaan, counting about eight buses from the ME.
