A truck collided with a footbridge on Professor van Buchemlaan in Tilburg on Thursday morning around ten o’clock. The bridge partially collapsed and is resting on the truck. A man walking his dog became trapped.

The man was trapped between the overturned bridge and the side of the sidewalk. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The dog was unharmed and taken home by the victim’s mother.
As of around half past eleven, the bridge remains on the truck. The municipality is investigating with the fire department how to best lift the bridge.
Visitors to the hospital must detour. According to the hospital, this has not caused any issues. “Also, the ambulance personnel is aware and knows the routes to detour,” said a hospital spokesperson.
