On Wednesday evening, the lawyer of the biological mother of Jerryson, a 15-year-old from Gouda, claimed that Jerryson was shot in the back by police during a confrontation in Capelle aan den IJssel.

The lawyer, Gerald Roethof, reached this conclusion after viewing a two-second video showing Jerryson running from police and jumping over a fence while three shots were fired at someone dressed in black. According to police, Jerryson ignored multiple warnings before fleeing.
The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has not disclosed where Jerryson was hit as the investigation by the Rijksrecherche is ongoing. The OM has urged everyone to await the outcome of the investigation. Jerryson was shot by police around 4:30 PM on Sunday after he refused to discard a modified, working pistol and fled the scene near a McDonald’s.

Prior to the shooting, Jerryson and three accomplices allegedly robbed a boy of his fatbike at a tunnel on Wisselspoor in Capelle aan den IJssel, during which the victim was threatened with a gun. Two other 15-year-olds involved in the robbery have been arrested and presented to a judge.
The OM confirmed that the weapon Jerryson had was a functioning firearm in the form of a modified gas alarm pistol. The biological mother has filed a complaint against the police, alleging manslaughter.
Roethof stated that the mother wishes for witnesses to come forward to the Rijksrecherche. She also wants an independent pathologist to examine Jerryson to prepare a separate report.
